1. Scope and relationship with Privacy Policy
This Policy applies to cookies, local storage and similar browser technologies used by LITALK Education in connection with its website, Student Portal and related digital Services. It supplements and shall be read together with the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the AI Privacy Notice.
2. Technologies currently used
Depending on the Service and browser, LITALK or its service providers may use browser storage for the following purposes:
- litalk-lang — stores the user's language preference.
- theme — stores a light or dark appearance preference in supported interfaces.
- litalk_visitor_id — stores a randomly generated visitor identifier used in connection with certain AI Services for usage controls, rate limiting, security and prevention or investigation of misuse. Although not designed primarily to identify a user by name, it may constitute personal data where it can be linked to an individual directly or indirectly.
- litalk_chat_terms_accepted — stores information indicating that the current AI Terms version has been accepted in the relevant browser. LITALK may separately retain a server-side acceptance record as described in the AI Privacy Notice.
- Authentication and session storage — Auth0 and related authentication components may use local storage, cookies or similar technologies to maintain authenticated sessions, token functionality and security controls. Authentication data is security-sensitive and should not be copied or disclosed to another person.
3. Purposes and legal treatment
Browser technologies used for authentication, security, fraud or abuse prevention, service integrity, rate limiting and core functionality may be necessary for a requested Service to operate. Technologies used solely to remember preferences, such as language or appearance, support user convenience. Where LITALK introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking technologies for which applicable law requires consent, LITALK will provide an appropriate notice and choice mechanism before such technologies are used to the extent required by law.
4. Duration
The duration of browser storage varies according to the relevant technology and purpose. Some items may remain until deleted, replaced or cleared by the user or application, while others may expire, rotate or be refreshed according to security or session settings. Server-side records associated with browser technologies may be retained separately in accordance with the Privacy Policy or AI Privacy Notice. Clearing browser storage may sign the user out, reset preferences, remove an AI visitor identifier or require renewed acceptance of the current AI Terms.
5. User controls
Most modern browsers provide controls to inspect, delete, restrict or block cookies and local storage. Restricting technologies necessary for authentication, security or core functionality may cause part of a Service to become unavailable or function incorrectly. User-interface controls may also be provided for preferences such as language or appearance.
6. Amendments and contact
LITALK may amend this Policy to reflect changes in technology, the Services, applicable law or regulatory requirements. Where a material amendment requires additional notice or consent, LITALK will provide the appropriate mechanism to the extent required by law. Questions concerning this Policy may be submitted to support@litalkeducation.com.
